SAM OMOLEHIN'S LESS THAN-PERFECT FAMILY LIFE.
Sam Omolehin,the "Missionary-Evangelist," is an enthusiast of a complete missionary work. He stands as a model for generations to come-but not in his family life.
It was a huge embarrassment for Sam in the initial Stage of his journey in life as someone starting to become a family man when a blemish which is not easily seen,hidden inside,and it usually manifests as a result of an action triggered off a violent allergic reaction by his wife,Toyin.
Though,the wedding between Sam and Toyin was match-made by Toyin's business partner who said after much prayer,he was led to match the two of them together as husband and wife. Well,actually Sam prayed with his prayer partner and eventually there was a go-ahead to become one.
In preparation for the engagement day,Toyin has to take Sam to her Uncle's compound in order for easy location,then a slight disagreement erupted between Sam and Toyin. Without hesitation,Toyin said she would go and report Sam to his elder sister. Already Toyin has widened the gap with annoyance. Sam said "we've not yet married and you want to be reporting me to people,go on and tell your mother."
She was angry and carried her wedding gown and dropped it in the sitting room of her business partner;she said that she is no more continuing in that wedding. That particular misunderstanding triggered off a violent allergic reaction in Toyin that day which should have made Sam to hands off in the wedding,but he insisted just because of the love he has for her. Toyin's business partner instructed her to carry that wedding gown and drop it in Sam's sister's house. Sam was called to order and that matter was settled.
FINDING LITTLE IN COMMON
Sam was still passionate in soul-winning,but his wife never supported him in that best profession so far as a missionary-evangelist.
Sam and Toyin had little in common. She was from a high class background,someone who doesn't want to experience something 'unpleasant'. Such as lack of money or food. She doesn't have the ability to continue doing something painful or difficult for a long period of time without complaining,which might be as a result of test of faith by God ,which has become part of a missionary lifestyle.
Sam might have waited and married a woman whose capabilities and interests more closely paralleled his own,but he did not.
It would be mistaken,however,to imagine that Toyin,had shrewdly snared the hometown's most eligible bachelor. He was described as a "poor - lazy man who doesn't want to do anything." There was no encouragement from her to her husband in the mission work except by compulsion from her husband. She said what Sam is doing doesn't fetch him much money like most of his mates who are into serious business that brings in a handsome of money for the family.
